Rat Control Zurich – Professional Rodent Treatment
Rats are rarely a random visitor. They follow a reliable food source and an accessible route – a defective drain, an open bin store, a gap in a basement wall.
Because of that, control only works when the cause is dealt with alongside the population. We look for both: where the animals are living and how they are getting in.
Signs to look for
- Droppings up to two centimetres long along walls and behind stored goods
- Greasy dark smear marks where rats run repeatedly along the same route
- Gnaw damage to packaging, cables, insulation and door frames
- Runs and burrow holes in soil, embankments and along building foundations

- Keep the bin store tidy and close container lids fully
- Note where you saw the animals and at what time

What to avoid
- Laying poison bait without knowing the situation or the routes
- Blocking a suspected drain defect before it has been inspected
- Feeding birds close to the building while an infestation is active
Is this urgent?
Nests at entrances, rodents in food areas or a sting risk for allergy sufferers are treated as urgent.

- Contamination of stored food and work surfaces
- Damage to cables, insulation and pipes, including fire risk
- Rapid population growth once a stable food source is available
How we handle it
We survey the building and the surrounding area, identify runs, entry points and food sources, and document them.
Control is then set up specifically: bait stations or trapping in secured positions, placed so that children, pets and wildlife are not at risk.
Monitoring runs until there is no further activity. Where a drain defect or structural gap is the cause, we tell you what needs to be repaired.
